Unable to View PDF Attachments

Unable to View PDF Attachments

Problem

The user selected the View button from the Attachments window, but the PDF attachment did not load in the browser or the external default application.

Solution

The internet browser used to run PowerLender was Internet Explorer. The Internet Explorer browser is not supported to run PowerLender 3.5.00 and later versions. Please ensure that a modern, HTML5 compliant browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox is being used.  Some organizations prefer the PDF files open in an external application instead of the browser. Follow the steps below to enable the setting to open PDF files externally.

Edge Browser

  1. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the browser window
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Cookies and site permissions
  4. Under site permissions, slide the block to the right to enable Edge to Always download PDF files

Chrome Browser

  1. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the browser window
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Privacy and security
  4. Select Site settings
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, click the down arrow for Additional content settings
  6. Scroll down and select PDF Documents
  7. Select Download PDFs radio button
