What’s New in PowerLender® 4.0.00

The PowerLender® Loan Origination System (LOS) originates, underwrites, processes, and closes mortgage, consumer, commercial, equity, specialty and nearly any other type of loan. ASC is nearing the completion of PowerLender 4.0.00, one of the most comprehensive new releases in PowerLender history. This document briefly summarizes the most important enhancements provided with the initial PowerLender 4.0.00 release.

Document Preparation

Other LOSs require the additional support and expense of third party document preparation systems. PowerLender provides its own fully featured document preparation sub-system. PowerLender can import, map and print (electronically or on paper) almost any lending document. PowerLender 4 enhancements include:
  • Fully native PDF form rendering and printing. Fillable PDF (Acroform) fields.
    • Native PDF check box and radio button rendering to reduce calculating and positioning "X"s.
    • PDF form insertions use the native Acroform positioning and font information.
  • PowerLender now generates a Service Providers List indicating the services for which the borrower can shop. This is essentially the last page of the Loan Estimate.

Pricing and Product Eligibility

PowerLender includes a versatile Pricing & Product Eligibility (PPE) engine. PPE enhancements include:
  • Greatly improved PPE user interface.
  • UI and setup flow more smoothly and track pricing history.
  • Pricing source and result reserved fields.
  • Pricing history is maintained for relocking and lock extensions.

Reporting

PowerLender integrates with i-net Clear Reports for fully featured reporting and dashboards. Clear Reports runs in the cloud alongside PowerLender. PowerLender 4 reporting enhancements include:


  • PowerLender now integrates with the i-net Clear Reports 2022 upgrade.
  • Reports can be executed from a PowerLender menu.
  • Clicking a displayed work queue report link opens the loan application in PowerLender.

Rules Engine

PowerLender can be fully customized without programming using its unique Rules Engine. The Rules Engine is enhanced in several ways.


  • New timestamp field data type that conforms to the MISMO and ISO8601 format standards.
  • Screen default appearance settings make it easy to enforce screen setup style standards.
  • Aggregate Escrow Model/ESCROW field expression.
  • The field setup UI is improved.
    • Easier navigation to related setup entities like screens and forms.
    • A field recent keys panel shows fields you recently changed.
  • Table maintenance supports filtering to limit the rows displayed.
    • Easier to focus on just the rows related to a business issue.
  • New REPLACE expression.

 Improved Third-Party Integrations

Other integrations are improved with PowerLender 4.0.00.


  • OneSpan Sign for electronic signatures and electronic document delivery. Doc delivery requires only an acknowledgment from the recipient; esigning is the full document signing process.

The daily use of PowerLender is easier.


  • PowerLender portal enhancements, including portal and PowerLender user maintenance.
  • Flatter, cleaner, brighter look.
  • Application information listing button.
  • Enhanced audit logging for printing, e-signatures, importing and exporting, and rate changes.
  • Improved tooltips displayed when hovering over fields on screens.
  • Improved print dialog.

Technology Stack

PowerLender 4 uses current and enhanced technology components.


  • PowerLender 4 supports both Java 8 and Java 11 to provide a smooth Java migration.
  • The cloud-based Hosted PowerLender web portal now supports all modern browsers.
    • Java applets are no longer used.
    • PDF printing uses the local PC PDF reader/viewer application and printers.
